Can Socks Make Good Gifts?
Thursday, November 10th, 2011I am sure most of you have never even considered giving socks as gifts before. I used to be the same way – after all, socks are just so plain and inexpensive, right? However, I have been looking at socks in a whole new light recently. First of all, everyone wears socks everyday, so you know they will get used if you give them to someone. Second, there are so many types of socks that aren’t cheap, and would make an awesome gift. You can get so creative when you are picking out socks to give people.
I have always found Disney socks to be a great gift for younger kids. I bought a pair of Mickey Mouse socks for my little nephew last year, and he absolutely loves them. I see him wearing them all the time. There are so many other cool Disney characters as well – Donald and Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, the Roadrunner, and Wiley E. Coyote.
Rubber socks are a type of sock that is used for swimming. If the person you are buying socks for swims quite often, then they probably own a pair of flippers. Rubber socks go underneath the flippers, so that the feet don’t get blisters. You can also just wear the rubber socks by themselves in the pool, so that you don’t have to worry about germs or whatever else might be sticking to the bottom of the pool.
So, apparently socks can be pretty cool gifts after all. Just do a little searching around, and you will be sure to find the right type of sock for the person you are shopping for. It is always a good idea to get a little something extra to go with the socks though, since they are pretty small. I like to throw in a nice restaurant gift certificate, and the person has a memorable gift they will always remember.
