Lose belly fat at home

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

There are a lot of people who have problems with belly fat, but they just don`t have time  to go regularly to gym. But there is a way out of the problem – here are three exercise that you should put in your exercise routines and to them regularly and as a result your belly fat will disappear in almost no time.

1) Sit Ups

Yes, sit ups. People have been saying that sit ups are useless because you cannot get the maximum effect. However, this is because they have done something wrongly. One major reason if because after doing sit ups, they do not stretch their stomach muscle as well as go for a 15 minute jog or walk. After doing sit ups, it is very easy to lose weight and belly fat by walking or jogging. The best idea is to use HIIT running, because scientist have proven that it burns more calories and tone your muscles better than normal running.

2) Leg Raise

Among all the exercises to lose belly fat, I will highly recommend you to do leg raise because it can lose the lower stomach fat. It is very effective when combines with sit ups because sit ups will burn the upper stomach fat while leg raise will help you to lose the lower belly fat.

3) Jogging

As what I have said just now, jogging or walking for about 15-30minutes after doing the above workouts will give you the maximum effect. Walking to lose weight after doing the above workouts is very effective because your body have been stimulated to burn more energy at the stomach and the energy is converted from your belly fat. So, you can lose your belly fat, effectively.

Hope that you can follow the exercises above, it is very easy and only takes less than 1 hour commitment every alternate day. Besides working out, you will also need to have a balanced diet. I will recommend Calorie Shifting diet.

Treating Tennis Elbow The Right Way

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

You know how uncomfortable, painful and inconveniencing it is to suffer from tennis elbow if you have ever been diagnosed with it before. This is a condition that happens when there is a soft tissue injury on the outer part of the tennis elbow on the tendons called epicondylitis. This happens when the arm is overused especially in repeated stressful movements like swinging the arm or pounding on something. If you have this injury that is caused by the tiny tears on the tendons, you are probably in search for lateral epicondylitis treatment, I am glad to tell you that you came to the right place. In this article, we will look at several effective tennis elbow treatments and how you can help yourself treat tennis elbow fast and completely.

Believe it or not, one of the very first, and actually only true tennis elbow treatment is rest. As soon as you realize that you have the condition, it is wise to immediately stop whatever you are doing and allow the injured arm to rest because continuing using it will only worsen the condition. We currently live in a society where people do not value personal welfare as they strive to achieve high goals, meet deadlines and push themselves too far both mentally and physically, this is why tennis elbow and a number of other bodily injuries are far too common. A very small population of the active people get sufficient rest these days. By taking rest, you will be doing your body a favor and allowing it to recuperate from the exhaustion of the day.

Getting back to the tennis elbow condition, when I talk about rest, it is not just sitting back and not doing the activity that caused the injury but rather allowing the injured arm complete rest in proper healing condition. Apply a pack of ice or frozen peas on the injured areas for between 10 and 20 minutes every three hours to prevent or reduce inflammation, swelling and improve comfort on the arm. One of the most common symptoms or effects of the tennis elbow injury is inflammation that leads to pain and swelling; this should be prevented or treated at the first instance.

Although there are a variety of different tennis elbow treatments, they all have similar objectives: to quell pain, relieve inflammation, swelling and necessitate healing. The injured tendons often heal on their own, the only thing you can do is provide sufficient environment and comfort for healing to take place. This means that you should wear an arm brace to prevent accidental usage of the arm, swinging and other activities that may aggravate the injury or prevent proper healing.

Generally, healing should take between a few days to weeks or months depending on the severity of the condition. It is advisable you see a doctor pertaining the injury to assess the situation because in some extreme cases, it may be necessary to use surgical operations to repair severely damaged tendons. Most injuries never go this far though, but you never know for sure till you see a doctor.

Female Fighting: Signs of the Times?

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Unless you’re very bad at keeping up with things, you’ll have noticed that the world is in disarray. Disliking that news won’t change the state of the world, though there is still hope if enough of us are able to take positive action to turn things around. One of the signs of dis-ease in the world, as I see it, comes in the form of female fights. Countries like the United States and Australia have seen a spike in the number of violent confrontations occurring between women, and I believe the reason is that too many people nowadays both lack meaning in their lives and see the writing on the wall in terms of environmental degradation, the far reaching powers of greedy multinationals, and politicians who are inept at best and more often than not corrupt.
When you subconsciously recognize that all is not well in the world but get messages from the media that things are just a-ok, that’s bound to create some tension in your life. My theory is that this tension, coupled with uncertainties about the future, coupled with primitive drives like fight-or-flight and competition for a mate have lead to the spate of females fighting females. I also think that because you’re most likely to see a female fight when her offspring are endangered, and because it’s a fact that ALL our offspring are endangered by global warming and environmental pollutants, many women are lashing out irrationally because they don’t know what to do about this problem that is bigger than any one person.
Rather than dismiss the problem of females fighting as par for the course, or god forbid as mere bloodsport for entertainment, I think we need to treat it as a serious symptom of things being very wrong and act upon it. We stand to lose a lot more, otherwise, and we stand to make great positive change if we come to understand the reasons female fights are taking place.

Potential Dangers of HRT

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) was prescribed by doctors for years to treat the symptoms associated with menopause. HRT medications were made to replace the drop in estrogen and progesterone that women experience as a result of menopause. Since it’s these hormone imbalance problems that are thought to be responsible for the vast majority of symptoms associated with menopause, then it makes since to treat the problem where it starts – with hormones. Traditional HRT, made from the urine of pregnant horses, was used for years; it was very effective at treating menopause signs. In most cases not did it work to reduce symptoms but it eliminated symptoms altogether.

However problems with HRT were revealed by the Women’s Health Initiative Study that actually was stopped early due to the health risks that were revealed as a result of this study. In 2002, this study revealed that HRT dramatically increased the risk of breast cancer, strokes, blood clots, and uterine and ovarian cancer. To my mind what’s truly shocking about this study isn’t what it revealed, but rather that women had been taking these medications for years until a comprehensive study was even conducted. Unfortunately women were making health choices about treatment based on the best information at hand when there really wasn’t any significant testing done until the start of this study in 1993. It’s hard to know how many women may have been adversely impacted by their use of HRT or how many were actually killed as a result of HRT use.

Once the risks of HRT were exposed, HRT use almost ground to a complete halt. Doctor’s no longer wanted to prescribe it and women no longer felt safe taking it. This left a lot of women with virtually no treatment options. Although HRT is still in use today, it is used only for short time frames to minimize the risks.
